About the Artist
Bhuri Bai is the oldest in the community of Bhil artists and spent almost half of her life by devoting herself to Bhil art. She is also well known for the talent of hut making. It was taught by mother Jhabbu Bai at a very young age. A mixture of clay, cow dung and chaff is the base of constructing, after the structure has been made they make shapes of humans and animals on the outside. The Bhil hut in Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya was made by her and others.
